I am a passionate performer who loves working with children. I started as a child care professional in my late teens and continued into my late 20's. I gained a lot of my expereince in working as a preschool teacher and an afterschool tutor for 5 years, owned and operated my in home childcare and tutoring center for 7 years, also owned and operated my children's event and entertainment business for 7 years (this went on until my early 30's). With the spare time that I did have, I trained in dance for about 4 years before I trained and competed for 2 years. All the hard work has paid off because I placed 1st at 2 local competitions AND placed 1st at the World Latin Dance Cup! I didn't place every time I competed and that is ok. I didn't have a smooth journey with my businesses and that's ok. I learned and grew so much along the way! Now, all I want to do is use my skills as a performer and a child development professional to empower both children and adults to gain confidence and inspire self love. All while having fun through dance and entertainment. We have to enjoy our life one HUYNH at at time. Get it? One "WIN" at a time! *giggles*
Coach's Journey: One "HUYNH" at a Time
Hey there! I'm so excited to share a bit about my journey with you, whether you're new to Knockout Dance or a veteran member. Grab your favorite dance shoes and let’s dive in!
My love for movement and expression has always been a part of me, but my path wasn't always centered on the dance floor. I started out in my late teens, working with some of the most energetic and imaginative little humans you can imagine. I was a preschool teacher and afterschool tutor, and I quickly realized that teaching children is a lot like dancing—you need rhythm, patience, and a whole lot of creativity!
For seven years, I owned and operated an in-home childcare and tutoring center, and let me tell you, it was like leading a tiny, adorable dance troupe every day. I also ran a children's event and entertainment business, where I discovered that there’s nothing quite like seeing a child’s face light up with joy. It was in these moments that I learned the power of a well-timed spin, a burst of energy, and the magic of bringing people together.
But as much as I loved working with kids, something inside me was itching to take center stage. I had always trained in dance in my spare time, pouring my heart into every step. After four years of training, I decided to take the leap and enter the world of competitive dance. It wasn’t all sequins and trophies, though—I faced my fair share of challenges. But each stumble was just a chance to twirl back onto my feet with even more determination.
After two years of competing, the hard work paid off. I took 1st place at two local competitions, and then—drumroll, please—I won 1st place at the World Latin Dance Cup! But let me be real with you—I didn’t win every time. And that’s perfectly okay. The stumbles taught me just as much as the wins did.
Now, I’m here to bring everything I’ve learned, both on and off the dance floor, to help you discover the joy and confidence that dance can bring. My goal is to empower everyone—kids and adults alike—to move with passion, love themselves fiercely, and have a blast while doing it. After all, life is all about celebrating each and every “HUYNH.” See what I did there? *giggles*
So let’s dance our way through life, one win at a time. I can’t wait to see where our next steps will take us!
